Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a distinctive keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bentley. It is made from Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight keys, as well as an album of never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne Key has two buttons that open the trunk, and the second that is used to start the vehicle. The key also includes a switch to turn on the parking brake. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors while parking in tight spots. This feature helps you get in and out of your car.
The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes about two days to craft each one. It is hand cut to shape, sewn sealed and polished to create an excellent finish. It is durable compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however it feels heavier and has a more luxurious feel.
Secure-A-Key is also included to help prevent keyless entry theft. This device is placed inside the remote control fob, and then shuts it off when the key isn't used for a few minutes. It blocks thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that can unlock and start the car.
Bentley's unique design reflects the values of the company that include fine craftsmanship, engineering expertise and modern technology. Over 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, and are responsible for the design, development, and production of Bentley cars. Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. These could range from picturesque vistas to sporting events. The resulting configuration is stored on individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys that are then presented to the guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys can be adorned with

Bentley claims it takes about 500 man-hours to design and put together the typical Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a deliberate decision to embrace modern tech. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. Drivers have to park their cars manually, instead of using sensors built into the vehicle to direct them to perpendicular and paralell spots.
At the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization options with one of a kind that was the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the founder William Osler Bentley. The limited-edition cars come with the key with a special design that shows a portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
